Why can't i get my vegetable juice to taste good?

I love v-8 juice but i wanted to make it myself for the health benefits but i just can't get the right combination of veggies and it tastes horrible. I added apple to sweeten but it still didn't help. Can you suggest a good combo??
From Sara:
I suspect you are juicing your greens using a centrifugal juicer which will not give you a good taste as only the water content from the vegetable juice is produced. It will taste like eating grass, which isn't very pleasant.
If you use a gear juicer, most of your green juices will taste very good as the enzymes and nutrients are also being extracted.
Some suggestion on ingredients you can use to make a delicious green juice are: cucumber for its water content, celery for its salty flavor, carrot for its sweetness, green apple for its good enzymes, spinach, lemon for its lemony taste.
There are many other ingredients you can use and you are only limited by your imagination. Here's a list to help you.
Below is a video on how to juice a very tasty green juice using a gear juicer. It will give you a good idea on how to make a green juice.

From Wikipedia "The original V8 is made mainly from tomatoes and the juices from seven other vegetables, specifically: beets, celery, carrots, lettuce, parsley, watercress, and spinach. [1] Tomato juice comprises around 87% of the total drink." I'm certain it also has salt and other additives/preservatives which affect taste.
I'm new to juicing, and before I went to the expense, borrowed a juicer from a friend for a two week trial to make sure juicing was for me. One of my first combinations was carrot-celery-red onion that was remarkably fresh and V8-like ... and made with washed un-organic produce that I had enough food benefits left to purchase at month end and in the borrowed centrifugal juicer that I was fortunate to borrow until the US economy improves and employment is again eminent. Sometimes progressive health comes in baby steps while we grow older, wiser, and wealthier. :)
