What is the reaction of juicing of greens on blood thinner ?
by Richard
(Bettendorf, Iowa)
I am taking blood thinners for a blood clot in my leg. What effect will vitamin K,which I am not suppose to supplement, have on the blood thinner (coumadin)? If it is still beneficial to take how much?
I am also diabetic and under control by diet and exercise. I am concerned about juicing apples, oranges, and beets. What are the guide lines for juicing with these restrictions ?
Thanks.
From Sara:Richard, you have to decide whether you want to go with orthodox medication or natural healing. Drugs like coumadin are synthetic which the body cannot absorb, but can only suppress your symptoms.
They don't heal.
Do a quick google search on "coumadin side effects" and you will see a long list of dangerous side effects you will get from taking coumadin, including
stomach ulcers and internal bleeding.
Natural healing is about feeding your body with the right nutrition in the form of vitamins and minerals in order for your cells to repair the damage, heal and nourish.
You need to understand what you're saying. When you say that "you're not suppose to supplement" is like saying that "you're not suppose to allow your body to heal!"
Vitamin K (potassium) is found richly in fruits and vegetables and
lack of it is the beginning of a lot of health problems, such as what you're experiencing. You need to decide which direction you want to go where your health is concerned.
Concerning juicing ingredients, you have a right to be concerned with what you're juicing because you're diabetic. But you'll be surprised if I told you that diabetic is not incurable. A dietary that is rich with fresh fruits (not sweet ones for now) and vegetables with plenty of fiber and mega doses of supplements can get you out of diabetes.
Check out some of the fruits/vegetables that are suitable for diabetes.
Get in touch with a naturopath (not a hospital nutritionist) and enquire about these supplements and dosage that will help your condition:
A safer alternative to coumadin for your blood clots are Vitamin B3 (Niacin) and Vitamin E.
Effective supplements for diabetes: high dosage of vitamin C and E, magnesium, chromium picolinate, vitamin B complex.
Don't worry, high dosages of vitamins never killed anybody but will do much good. (Exception with vitamin A as supplement).
God bless.
