Three To Five Day
Fast Program

So you've set your mind to go on a three to five day fast.  If you're not used to fasting, this might be a little bit of a challenge. Otherwise, it would be a breeze.  Like everything else, you get better at it, the more often you do it.

Choose the time to go on a 3-5 day fast on days when you don't travel, or don't have too many appointments to keep.  This will allow you to put your attention to your fast so that you benefit most out of it.

Get yourself acquainted with all the implications of a successful fast, on what to expect when you juice fast, what to drink, how much and most importantly, how to break a fast.

Your body is still doing much of detoxification on short fasts.  Follow the easy guide below on what you can drink for the entire day on the First Day of your fast.

First Day of Fast

Morning
Start the morning with a little stretch exercise. Make a big glass of juice using any or all of these ingredients.  Use any other fruits or vegetables you fancy.  There are no hard and fast rules.

There are no hard and fast rules about what you can or cannot drink on a juice-fast.  The above are just examples of what you can juice.  Feel free to create your own recipes with what's available or what's in season where you are.  What we want are the rich vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients in the juices that will hydrate your cells.

In between "meals", continue to drink the balance of watermelon and cantaloupe juice (juice them fresh).  Put aside a bottle of 2 liters of drinking water (distilled is best) that you should make a point to drink throughout the day to help flush out the toxins and keep hydrated. Don't force yourself though, drink only what you can comfortably consume.

On day two and three, your body continue to detox and you will still experience hunger pangs and other symptoms of detoxification.  Hold on to the reason you're fasting and you will find that on the fourth day, the hunger pangs will disappear.  The fifth day will be a breeze and you will have done your body much good before you know it.

Here are some ideas of what other fresh juices you can take after the first day of fasting:

Subsequent Days of Fasting:

Day 2 to 3
During a time when your body continues to detox, take more fruit juices as fruits are very cleansing.  It is very important that you take at least 2 liters of water to flush out the toxins to minimize on the detox symptoms.

In between "meals" or if you have no access to a juice extractor, there are other options you can drink to "fill in".  In fact, you should set these aside when preparing to go on a juice fast.

If you still feel good after the fast on the fifth day and want to continue on with your fast for an indefinite period, just continue on.

Happy juice fasting !!
