Saving my own life makes me a hero

Hello folks, two years ago I was hit by a drunk driver and suffered many very serious injuries. I was confined to the bed for the first 4 months and a wheel chair for 15 months.
As soon as I could start eating real food again, I made it my best friend. Food brought me comfort. I gained 25 pounds and 2 months ago I was told I had kidney failure (3rd stage) and approaching diabetes II and high cholesterol of 200. I totally freaked!
I immediately quit smoking (yes, I even started back on cigarettes because I was so bored). I also started searching for ways to heal myself. I am 57 but not ready to die yet. Considering that I was not even expected to live, I feel ashamed of what I have done to my body. I started to read about what not to eat, and went out and bought all low cal, low cholesterol, gluten free, low sodium, low carb foods. I found out all the bad stuff about canned foods, processed foods, boxed foods and meats. I was horrified!
Then a friend told me that her brother's tumor was shrinking because he was now juicing and I should try it. So I went out and bought a juicer the other day and started searching the internet for information, recipes, etc about juicing when I came across this site. I'm so excited about it because it answers questions I didn't even know to ask.
I woke up today feeling so good, I can't believe it. 2 weeks ago, after only one month of my new diet, my blood was tested again for renal kidney failure and my GFR rating is now above 60 which means I am getting better and no longer in stage 3 kidney failure.
I believe I will continue to heal with the help of juicing my vegetable and fruits because I find it difficult to eat enough good stuff in a day and juicing makes it so much easier. I wish I had started this the minute I was injured. I bet I would have healed faster.
If you know anyone who is sick or injured, help them by bringing them a juicer and juicing them back into good health. The information in this site is superb. I wish someone had come to my rescue two years ago with all this information. But, thank God I found it now. It's not too late.
Sara says:Hi Christine, thank you for your inspiring story. I'm sorry that you had to go through what you did, but glad now that you've found a new way of living, like being given a second chance in life.
Thank you for sharing. I believe you will now keep getting better and will eventually begin to affect the people around you in a positive way, towards healthy-living. That's the real reason why at 57 you "were not ready to die yet"!
God bless!
