Fast Program
For Prolonged Fasting





Congratulations to you for wanting to fast for more than 5 days.  At this stage, I believe you are experienced with juice fasting and understand all the implications of a successful fast.  You know what to do, what to expect and you want to stretch yourself further.

As I mentioned earlier, longer fasts are preferable to shorter ones.  From hereon, you may try to fast for 7 days, ten, 21, 30 or even up to 40 days.  People usually juice fast up to 40 days for either a religious reason or for health reason¾to reverse a serious illness.

Do not attempt a juice fast for a prolonged period for more than five days if you are not used to fasting in general.  In which case, please begin with a one-day fast or a 3-5 day fast.

While juice fasting for short periods without colon cleansing is fine, for a prolonged fast it is recommended that you do a colon cleanse program to help with your body's waste elimination.

During fasting, a huge amount of wastes, toxins, dead cells and diseased tissues are burned, and they are being loosed and expelled from the system.  These wastes are eliminated from the system through our kidneys, bowels, skin and lungs, with the bowels being the main way out.

As we fast, there is no fiber going through our system, causing our natural bowel movements to eventually cease taking place.  These toxins remain in the colon and are re-absorbed into the system, poisoning the whole body.

To help with the elimination of these wastes, there are a few options that you can consider doing.  These are whole new topics which you can read up on the internet:

  • Enema
  • Colon cleanse program or hydrotherapy (colonic irrigation)
  • Psyllium husks
  • Natural herbal tablets like Natural Moves

I have personally fasted only up to 21 days twice and can say that the result was exhilarating.  It took some effort, physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially.  But I can tell you that at the end of it all, it was worth every effort I put in.

Make a journal of your fasting journey
for your own future reference regarding your health.


Make a journal of your fasting journey.  Jot down what you drank, how you felt, how your body responded and every little detail you notice while juice fasting for a prolonged period.  Keep this in a safe place to remind you in the future when you want to go on another juice fast.  In your journal, make a mention of your failures, triumphs, joy, pains and how you endured through it all.

At the end of your long journey, you will experience something no one else can give you, a renewed health, cleansed and nourished, a new body.  You will definitely lose some weight, depending on how much you weigh before you started the juice fast.  The more you were overweight before you started juice fasting, the more you will lose. You will also realize that some pains/aches that you had before may have disappeared.

What to juice?

To start on your prolonged juice fast journey, back-track a little bit to look at the guide I've prepared for a 3-5 day fast.  Your first few days should be more or less the same.  Get creative on your juice recipes and vary them always so that you get as wide range of nutrition as you can; just as you won't eat the same food everyday, if you were eating normally.

As you go further into your prolonged fast, add more fresh vegetable juices to your juicing regime. Vegetable juices are preferred over fruit juices in the long run, for their remarkable healing virtues.

Here are some suggestions of ingredients suitable for prolonged fasts (not arranged in any particular order).  However, this list is not exhaustive.  You can, and should add any other greens in season that you can find wherever you are.

Always keep an abundance of carrots, green apples and capsicums ready to mix with any other greens.  They are some of the most nutritious foods and are especially useful during your prolonged fast.
