My Juice Fasting Experience

It's day 6 of what is now my third juice fast over the last two years. Sitting behind a computer screen for a living, eating what REALLY tastes good and not sleeping much led to a huge weight, thus, health problem.
I was developing high blood pressure and well ... to be frank, I was HUGE for my height. Doc did some blood work and informed me I was a walking heart attack looking for a place to happen ... not nice.
I had to change my diet and get rid of the weight and toxins stored in all that "extra" me ... I did a lot of research and decided to juice fast. Made a plan, bought an Omega juicer and initiated my first juice fast. I ended up going 22 days without that actually being a goal ... I just listened to my body and ended the fast then.
I did notice that I too was more sensitive to cold. But perhaps most interesting to me was the small periods when I experienced what I can only describe as fleeting feelings of utopia. Nothing hurt, nothing ached, and a feeling of peace and detachment would flood me. They were brief, but fantastic.
The morning I ended my 22-day fast I had blood work done. (Note: remember to really hydrate before going as they will have problems drawing the blood otherwise ... ouch!) Several days later, when I called for the results of the bloodwork, her assistant informed me the doctor had written in larger letters across the report:
PERFECT!!
It's true, it's like rebooting your system.
What I noticed after the 22-day fast was that I could no longer stand fast foods ... I eat fresh veggies and fruit and we now prepare most of our own meals as opposed to going out for lunch or dinner because we were pressed for time. We make the time to eat right now. We had to break some old habits and fasting really helped in that department as well.
I don't know if I'd ever consider any longer period fasts, as I'd be concerned I'd not want to ever end it ... so I'll stick to the 22-day limit or shorter ...
