Metabolism Makeover
Interview (Part 1 of 6)

Exclusive interview between
Juicing-for-Health.com
and
Expert Nutritionist, Yegyan,
who specializes in difficult weight loss

Question # 1:
How did you become a specialist in weight loss?

Answer:

When I started treating people as a Nutritionist and Holistic Practitioner, I wanted to help people restore their body’s natural ability to heal.

Many people are surprised that almost all the time, nutrition is really all that is required.

People with high blood pressure, diabetes, insomnia, skin problems, etc, have a nutritional deficiency.

Since my focus was on health and not symptoms, I spent most of my work educating clients on how to control their health. When I taught people to get healthy and how to make it a game for them to heal other conditions, they also started to lose weight.

What I didn’t know was that these same people were not able to lose weight before. And if they did, they were not able to keep it off. I had to realize that people needed a better set of tools to measure their health and that if they did that they could lose the weight and keep it off.

Because weight loss in a healthy natural way had such a high demand I began to focus only on that. I found I was able get more people to change their health habits if they could lose weight and keep it off!

Question # 2:
I understand that you use juicing with your method. Can you please tell us how you think juicing and weight loss can be related?

Answer:

Well, though juicing is not a requirement with my program, it is a very effective tool to help my clients lose weight.

My method focuses on restoring certain health imbalances before focusing on weight loss.

The most basic way to heal a body is to give it what it needs to heal and most often what is needed is just proper nutrients.

If any life form does not get the foods it needs it will get sick. The same is true of your cells and nervous system. This is where juicing can make a big difference.

Most solid foods have to go through many stages before they are broken down for your cells to use. This takes time and energy from your body that can otherwise be used to heal cells and increase your body’s health.

Drinking fresh vegetable juices gives much of what your cells need without the time and effort needed to break it down. It is ready to be assimilated by your cells right away. It also will detoxify the fluids in your body.

Most foods that people eat nowadays do not have micro nutrients (vitamins, minerals and enzymes).

When micro-nutrients are deficient in the body a chain reaction occurs where your body will only use sugar for fuel instead of body fat.

This is one of the major foundations of my method - to allow in as many ways possible, the high availability of micro-nutrients to the cells. This alone can break the chains that prevent weight loss or keep the weight off.

If it changed on the INSIDE, it WILL change on the OUTSIDE.

Question # 3:
So, all one has to do is simply to drink juices and the weight will come off?

Answer:

For some yes, the deficiency in micro-nutrients can be so great that by giving this person a high amount of micro nutrients they will drop weight right away

For some others, they have toxic fluids that their bodies are retaining and drinking juices will help their bodies release this toxic fluids. The release of the fluids can cause several pounds of weight loss. Also, the release of the toxins can allow the metabolism to rise and they can lose a bit more weight after that.

For some others they were dehydrated at a cellular level so juicing can help hydrate the cells. This allows the body to burn fats for energy instead. The problem, however, is that all of these, will stop producing results at one point or another.

When there is sudden weight loss through nutrition it is because there was a deficiency. Juicing restores that deficiency.

But what I want people to ask is “Why was there a deficiency in the first place?”. THAT is the key to KEEPING the weight OFF.

Question # 4:
So are you saying that juicing is good only for temporary results?

Answer:

Oh, not at all. Juicing provides so many benefits beyond this point of initial weight loss.

When you investigate the question, “Why was there a deficiency in the first place?” you will come to see that there are health imbalances that have existed for a long time before the weight became an issue.

Your body is so resilient it will work hard to try and keep you lean, healthy, fit and strong, but after too much effort certain organs will get fatigued just like a muscle would and it will just not work well.

This is what starts the health imbalance in the first place. The inability for a gland to work well, for example will cause a chain reaction that results in a nutrient deficiency.

What really needs to happen is that gland needs to heal. Then the deficiency will not be occurring in the first place.

This is where juicing comes in. Juicing, when using the right ingredients can help the healing process of these organs.

It can strengthen weak organs and also relax stressed organs.

Question # 5:
That is very interesting.  Can you give us an example of a juice recipe that can help heal a gland and explain why?

Answer:

Absolutely.  There is a health imbalance that prevents weight loss. This imbalance involves stress. I go over this at length in my book because stress is one of the major causes of inability to lose weight.

When a person starts to go through extended periods of stress, one very crucial nutrient starts to get depleted. That nutrient is potassium.

There is a hormone that is secreted in excess when your nervous system is under stress. This hormone causes potassium to be eliminated in urine and sweat.

The water in your cells are there because of the balance of potassium and sodium (salt). Water will go where sodium is. When potassium leaves there is too much sodium in your body. So water molecules will attach to the sodium molecules. This is what causes water retention.

Potassium has many more purposes though. One of them is to help the muscle fibers elongate and go back to their full length. When there is too little potassium for too long, the muscles stop being able to elongate and so they stay contracted.

Potassium deficiency also leads to high-blood pressure and hyper-tension. Many people who have hyper-tension are told by doctors to avoid salt for this reason.

It is actually a deficiency in potassium.

The inability of the muscles to lengthen and relax, high-blood pressure and also hyper-tension further stress the nervous system and the stress hormone that started the whole cycle gets released even more!

The root cause is the excess stress.

So juices made from foods that are high in potassium will help relax the nervous system and allow the muscles to stop being in a constant state of contraction.

Here is a recipe that is simple and can help if you are in this situation.

If you drink a lot of coffee and other caffeinated foods/drinks, waking up still feeling exhausted, with tight calves in the morning, clenched muscles, etc., this juice recipe can help:

5 – 6 leaves of romaine lettuce
5 – 6 leaves of kale
½ of a medium-sized cucumber
3 – 4 ribs of celery
1 roma tomato
¼ lemon or lime

Potassium tastes different in different concentrations. Light concentrations will taste sweet, and as it gets more and more dense, it will taste more bitter and then even salty.

The above drink can be pretty dense and over-bearing in taste for some people. Adding an apple can help this. Apple is also high in potassium.

When choosing high potassium foods, choose foods low in sugar.
