Leave the peel?

by Jim
(Greece)

Is it safe to juice non-organic fruits and vegatables with masticating juicers like carrots, apples, pears, etc. with their peel? Is it possible to poison the juice from masticating juicers from the chemicals of the peel? (That is after a good wash with tap water.)

Sara says:

Jim, that depends if you're using a good quality masticating (single-gear) juicer like the Omega or Samson. In Malaysia (my country), it would be the Alpha Juicer or the Matstone Juicer. I can't speak for other imitation brands, though.

One of the beauties of single gear juicers is the ability to reduce or minimize the pesticides and chemicals in the juice. The manufacturer doesn't claim to "totally eliminate" but it is greatly reduced to a very small percentage.

Please to go to this page to learn how a gear juicer can help minimize harmful chemical and pesticides in your juice and see the lab test results done using the Alpha Juicer DA-900 which is built for Southeast Asian countries.

In this case, a twin-gear would do a better job at it due to its magnetic and advanced technology. Consider the Green Power Kempo.
