Is juicing suppossed to replace a meal ?

by Debryn
(Fair Oaks, CA USA)

My 14 year-old daughter has added juicing to her diet. I want her to add juicing as a positive and healthy addition to her regime. What would a sample day of eating and juicing be? I don't know the right way for her to do this and want to make sure she is adding juicing in a positive and correct manner.

From Sara:

For your growing daughter, juices is not supposed to replace a meal. Juices should be a supplement to her healthy diet that should include a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

Please see this page for the basics on juicing.

Go to this page for a checklist of the nutrition she will need in her growing up years. If she's not taking enough fruits and vegetables in her diet, then these can be supplemented by taking juices.

Happy juicing !
