How to reduce water retention

by Manny
(Long Beach, Ca)

I take meds for high blood pressure and i retain fluids. What fruit or veggie can I juice to remove fluids from my body?

From Sara:

First of all, you might want to try celery juice which will help you bring down your blood pressure.

Contrary to what most people think, your body actually retains fluid (edema) because it is dehydrated. When your body is not getting enough water, it will tend to hold on to whatever little water it has (water retention). This is your intelligent body's "survival mode" at work.

Try drinking more water. Distilled water is best. Check how much water you need to drink.

Also, drinking juices with high mineral content will also help your body to reduce water retention. Some examples are cucumber, green apple, lettuce, celery, watermelon, cantaloupe, etc.

Also look up other healing foods.
