How many times a day can you drink juice when strictly juicing?
by Anonymous
I have never juiced before but feel very unhealthy and am ready to make a change in my life.
I have terrible bowels and it it is not unusual for me to go more than 5-7 days without having a bowel movement. Because of this I regularly drink stimulant teas and stool softeners with stimulants. I also have frequent heartburn and have been dianosed with acid reflux.
I am about 50 lbs over weight and would like to begin juicing first as a detox/colon cleanse. Once the colon cleanse is complete I would like to continue juicing for weight loss as well as the health benefits.
My question is if I am going to juice without eating how long is it safe to do so and how often should I juice per day?

Not having a bowel movement for up to 5-7 days in a row is definitely asking for a lot of trouble. And I'm glad you realize that this is unhealthy and willing to make a change.
First of all, start making changes to your dietary.
Detoxification BEGINS the moment you STOP putting harmful foods into your body. Start adding lots of
healing foods to nourish your cells back to health.
Definitely stop taking stimulant teas or other similarly disguised laxatives as these are harmful. They make your colon "lazy" and may cause worse constipation problems later.
It is well and good that you want to take up juicing to detox. However, I do not suggest that you start on a prolonged fasting just yet. Begin with one or two day short fasts with plenty of juices (preferably vegetable juices) and pure drinking water. Gradually increase the number of days you fast, constantly being alert to how your body is responding.
How much to drink? Drink as much as you want as long as you can comfortably take.

Also be aware of
healing reactions that can happen when you begin a healthy diet; but they don't mean that you should stop juicing.
God bless.
