How many carrots to juice for eye related problem?
by Nurul Darni
(Singapore)
Recently, I undergone a minor eye laser surgery for a tiny retina hole in my left eye. 3 mths after, the refractive index increases from 8.75 to 10.00. I am very worried abt this and they say it is common to have some fluctuation in the index after a laser surgery. So now, if possible i want to reduce my eye index and prevent it from getting higher! My husband said drink carrot juice everyday. So question is how many carrots do i juice? Do i juice X no. of carrots till I get a glass full (250ml)? of do i juice for a certain no. of carrots (say only 3 carrots a day)?
Thank u Nurul
From Sara:
Nurul, indeed carrot juice is an excellent food for your eyes. There is no x number of carrots that you should take. Just drink a glass (approximately 250 ml) two or three times a day or as much as you like. If you use organic, the result might be quicker.
Drink regularly for about one to two months until you start to see an improvement. Don't worry about your skin turning orange because that is the overflow of materials which have been clogging the liver and are being eliminated with the consumption of carrot juice. This shows how effective carrot juice is at cleansing. A good sign that the system is getting a good clean-up. When this "turning orange" happens, continue to take your carrot juice and the color will eventually go off as it cleanses.
