Hair loss and chronic acne
by Loretta Patrick

For a week now I have been juicing with carrots and apples for my daughter's chronic acne. She has been battling acne for 12 years. She is underweight and found to be anemic and low in calcium.
So I started juicing to help her after reading books on juicing. A few days ago I found her hair on the top of her head is thinning to the point of patches.
She has often had thinning of hair in drastic measures and I can't figure what the cause is. I know this all sounds complicated, but what can we do to put her in better health? Will too many carrots - 4 carrots to 1 apple a day cause thinning of the hair?
Her skin seems so much better already! I just don't want to hurt her with what I try.
Thank you from a desperate mom.
Sara says: Dear Loretta, my apologies but this reply may seem long overdue. I hope you have found a remedy to your daughter's problems. If not, here are some things you may try:
Acne happens due to
numerous reasons. There is one thing which I find particularly helpful to reduce acne outbreak and it's completely natural: cold-pressed fresh flaxseed oil to be taken 2-3 tablespoon a day. A small amount can also be applied to the acne to help ease them up.
Do continue giving her various kinds of juices, especially the green juices. Let her drink as much as she's comfortable drinking. Juices can never harm. They are very hydrating and help heal, repair and nourish her damaged cells. Green juices are rich in chlorophyll and iron that are necessary for blood-building as she is also anemic.
Hair loss can also be caused by
numerous reasons, whether internally or externally. One of the nutrients that are so important but often overlooked by most people concerned with hair loss is vitamin B7 (biotin). She can take this supplement of up to 2400mcg/day to reduce hair loss. Also helpful is applying extra virgin coconut oil on the scalp 2-3 hours before wash. Do this 2-3 times a week to heal the scalp and to encourage hair growth.
I hope the above will be of some help. Again, my apologies for the very late reply.
