Grape seeds through a masticating juicer?

by David
(Republic of Korea)

I have an Omega 8003 masticating juicer. Is it OK to put grapes through the machine, with their seeds? The seeds are very hard. Will they damage the parts/cause melamine in your juice? The seeds are healthy so it would be good to use them.

From Sara:

Hi David, grape seeds are not that hard and can be easily crushed by the auger in masticating juicers. I juice grapes (along with the seeds) frequently and never have any problem with it.

The auger is also very safe and would not get damaged from crushing grape seeds.

Happy juicing!
