Differences between blending and juicing

I started a juice cleanse Sunday night (2 1/2 nights ago) and have been juicing spinach, romaine, beets, carrots, tomatoes, apples, beans and bean sprouts, cucumbers, zuchini squash, and berries.
I've suffered from migraines for years. Since starting the cleanse I've had a monster migraine. It's somewhat better today than yesterday, but there nonetheless. Will this pass?
And also, I'm using a vitamix for my juicer. Am I doing more harm than good using this? I would very much appreciate your feedback. I plan on going at least 7 days, but longer if possible. I've done a water fast for 4 days, but this is my first juice fast. Thanks so much!
Sara says:Hi Genna,
What you're experiencing, a monster migraine, is a "healing reaction" which is necessary for your healing. Pls read about
"healing crisis" here, to understand what you're going through.
A Vitamix is a blender, not a juicer. What you're doing is blending, like "eating". When eating, your body uses different enzymes compared to when drinking. The degree of healing is different too. But when you do blending, you're still eating more fruits and vegs than you would usually do, so of course there's some good in it. But try to use organic produce for this purpose. You may want to invest in a juicer too, as drinking the juices would be better for long term detoxification and healing.

Hope this helps!
