Can I make a large batch of juice and keep in the refrigerator?

by Bill
(Garden Grove ,CA)

I like to make large batches of juice and then bottle them to drink over a 2-day period. Am I losing anything as far as nutrients are concerned, by doing this?

Sara says:

The vitamins and minerals in fruits and vegetables are rather delicate. Once cut up, they begin to lose its nutrients rapidly. By juicing using a centrifugal juicer (high-speed spinning), the nutrients deteriorate/oxidize even faster.

Phytonutrients and chlorophyll in vegetables are more hardy but still lose some of its nutrients over time, even though refrigerated. If you're using a gear juicer (low speed juicer), most of the nutrients may still be preserved. Store them in air-tight container/vacuum flask and fill them up to the brim to prevent the air from oxidizing the juices. Drink within 24 hours if you can.

I still suggest that juices are drunk immediately and fresh from the juicer for optimum nutrition.
