Book on which veg juices are good for which illnesses?

I know juicing can be dangerous. I want to be a responsible juicer. However, being a beginner, I need a place that tells the ingredients of a veg (vitamins, minerals, etc.) and which ones are best used for certain physical weaknesses.
I fasted at a health clinic in Cleveland, OH in 1999 for 46 days on water. The doc checked our blood once a week, but I still developed a serious chemical imbalance because of this extreme fasting. It almost ruined my life. I also suffer from Pre-diabetes and nerve damage on each side of my spine in my back. No medical help is available. No one knows what caused it. I would like to rejuvinate that condition if possible and work on the pancreas problem.
Sara says:Dear Judith, drinking juices is not dangerous. It's not doing it responsibly that makes it dangerous. So you are right to want to be a responsible juicer.
Not doing it responsibly means going on prolonged fasting and not knowing/understanding what you're doing. And doing things excessively.
I don't know exactly what damage was done, what caused your problems, nor do I know how you've been doing your fasting or juicing. However, we need to go back to the basics.
Please go this page to understand about a "holistic" approach to health. All the components listed under item
# 4. Nutrients, must be fulfilled to have the right "balance" (or in other words, to prevent chemical imbalance).
On top of these, there must also be a way to detoxify the toxins that are being released in your body, when you're on a prolonged fast or juice fast. This could be in the form of colon cleanse, colon irrigation or enema.
As for books, you may check out some recommended books on this page. The book by Dr Norman Walker entitled "
Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices" is one that I often refer to. In your case, I suggest you nourish back your health first by
starting from square one, that is
drinking fresh juices especially green juices.
Be well and God bless! :)
