Aside from home made, what kinds of juices should I buy?

by Dorothy
(Philadelphia, PA USA)

I realize that as I start this detox juice diet, I'll have to make my own fruit and vegetable juices though I am uncertain as to the "other" kinds of juices I can buy? It said in your article that in between "juicings," we should drink natural juices and also plenty of pure water. But what kinds of natural juices? As in bottled juice from the store that is 100 juice? Those kinds? What VH juice? The vegetable juice that comes in a bottle as well? Are all of those types ok to buy for in between normal juicings?

Also, as juicing consists of three "meals," how many servings of juice should I drink in between those three "juice meals?"

Lastly, coffee is not allowed at "all?'

I Hope you can answer these questions for me.
Thank you so much
Dorothy

From Sara:

Dorothy,

I did not say "natural" juices. I said "fresh" juices.

Canned, packet or bottled drinks that are packed commercially usually contain additives, preservatives and emulsifiers to make the juices more stable and last longer. Some are even loaded with sugar. When you are fasting/detoxing, your body is usually temporarily loaded with toxins that are being transported for elimination. You don't want to add more toxins into your body through these commercially prepared juices.

I don't believe in drinking bottled juices sold outside, unless you see them juice it fresh for you. As I kept saying, fresh juices cannot keep fresh for long. Once juiced, the enzymes and nutrients start to deteriorate rapidly. Then it defeats the purpose of drinking juices in the first place.

If you cannot have access to fresh juices when you're at work, another alternative is to get raw honey, Bragg's apple cider vinegar and liquid chlorophyll (or spirulina powder). Mix one teaspoon of each of these into a glass of 200ml water and drink in place of juices, till you get home to make your own fresh juice.

As to how much to drink - as much as you want, and as much as you can comfortably drink. If you find that you're forcing yourself to drink, then that's too much.

Yes, and coffee is out too because coffee has over 100 unknown chemicals in it, some toxic, and can do damage to your liver. You don't even want to drink coffee under normal circumstances. What more when you're trying to detox.

Hope this helps. Happy juicing !

Sara
