After 40 Years of Natural Foods

Hello, I too would like to encourage everyone to forsake their man-made diets of white flour, sugar, pop and fried, overcooked or commercial foods. Like Sara I too grew up eating those things and suffering numerous illnesses, weakness and skin problems.
After I studied nutrition in college and talked often to various health professionals, I too learned to appreciate natural God-given foods that are full of life, and that the body was designed to clean out and rebuild IF we give it a chance to do so.
Even though I live in Canada where fresh fruits and vegetables are usually hard to find and expensive for most of the year, I've learned to make inexpensive juices (carrot and apple) that can be the basis for small amounts of the more expensive fruits and vegetables.
During winter, I grow wheatgrass by soaking a cupfull of wheat kernels in a glass jar covered with a piece of pantyhose secured with a rubber band, keeping it by the kitchen sink and rinsing the kernels in the morning and evening. After sprouts appear, spread out the kernels in a 9' X 13' glass dish and cover with a larger piece of pantyhose, and continue rinsing twice daily. After a week, you'll have a nice lawn of green grass you can cut and juice in a fine wheatgrass juicer (you can buy one from the Booster Juice company in Canada.) You can start jars of sprouts every 2 or 3 days which will supply plenty of grass continually.
I'm nearly 60 years old now and have more energy and stamina than my married children. I'm in awe of God's design of so many beautiful nutritious foods and the marvelous human body that can heal itself from all the abuse that we so ignorantly give it!
Sara says: Linda, thank you for sharing your story. You sure look a picture of glowing health! Through your testimony too, I hope people will begin to appreciate live foods. And thanks for the tip too, on growing wheatgrass!
